hi guys,

i will be in LA at the beginning of February next year and was wondering if 300mm on a full frame body is a good focal length for spotting at LAX's Imperial Hill?

Are there any objects in the way that limit photography to a certain angle only? Any input for spotting from said point would be nice!

Cheers
Sandro

300mm full frame will be a little on the short side for all but the big heavies (747, A346).

2nd that Sandro, 300mm on a FF camera will have you miss quite a bit of stuff. For smaller acft (320s, 737s, 757s) you'd need about 500mm on a FF, 400 will do fine if you can use a 1.3 or 1.6 crop cam.

Drop Jorge Chavez & Paul Paulsen a line if you're going, brilliant guys and take one or two OKish photos too  Wink

Then there is Samy's where you can rent a 600mm f4.

Just for 150 bucks (a day or the w/e) you will be "king of the hill"
