Topic: BUD Observation Terrace. Open Yet? Username: dchapman Posted 2010-02-14 06:28:47 and read 2146 times.Hi everyone
I am looking to visit Budapest this summer but i heard some rumours saying that the observation terrace is closed due to working being carried out, and that it may not be open until muchy later this year. The last thing I want to do is get there and find I cant get to the deck. I am aware there are a few spots around the airport for photography, but the roof is very good. I went some yers ago and know what it is like for photography.
Can anyone shed any light on the status of the viewing deck at Budapest?
Many thanks

There is some construction work being done on T2 and the roof terraces are closed right now. They might open later on this year but I wouldn't count on it for now.
There is also a terrace on the top of T1 which is open, not affacted by the construction work at T2.

Furthermore sucurity levels are idiotic and photographers are even "sent home" from outside of the very high fence many times. The temperature in the summer rises reguraly above 35C. |

That can all be, but Budapest itself is a really beautiful city and if you're a spotter visiting the city, why not pop over to the airport for some kerosene vapours as well?
Cheers!
