Hi:
This week, I am to buy a Nikon D90+Nikkor18-105VR or 18-55VR and before, I would like some advise .
Now, I have a D70 and Nikkor 70-300VR lens. I am pleasant, but I think 7.1 pixeles is a little short today. Some opinion?

Regards
Bustin

Should be a good combination.

D90 at higher ISO settings might be a pleasant surprise for you.   The 70-300mm and D90 should deliver good results.

I don't have any opinions on the other two lenses.

7m pixels is plenty, unless you are doing huge prints.

If you do get the D90, I would get it with the 18-105 VR. I have it on my D40, and although not ideal for aviation photogs where I am (Need my 70-300 for that), it makes a great all around/travel lens, and the 105mm gives you a nice amount of flexibility beyond the 55mm.

But then again, from what I've heard, the D70 is a great camera and unless you feel the need for more megapixels or a newer body, I would probably stick with the D70, heck I am still loving my D40   But the choice is yours my friend, I too would probably get the D90 if I had the chance

I have precisely that kit, D90 + 70-300VR and I am very pleased with it so far (it's sort of new). You should have no problem.
I can't say anything about the other lenses, I was actually asking the same a few days here in the forums... maybe you read the advice given to me?

I'm hoping to purchase the D90 + 70-300VR in the next few days.It will be a big step up from my Fuji S100FS

The difference in megapixels is so negligible you won't even notice the difference unless you blow it up REALLY huge, and the D70 is 6.1MP, not 7.1MP. The camera companies have everyone hooked up to the megapixel nipple nowadays to keep cameras selling.

You will however notice the image quality difference in a D90. Try some ISO800 or ISO1600 images.

Thanks to everybody.

I am very pleasant with my D70+70-300VR but to work, sometimes, I need high quality print pictures to A3 size. And I think 6.1 is some short. This is because I am looking for the D90.

Sure, I´m going to opt for Nikkor 18-105VR

Even at A3 size, you'd be printing your D70 images at around 180 dpi (assuming no cropping). It would be difficult to see any difference in quality even with your face only a dozen cm from the print. The D90 will give you about 260 dpi at that size, so there will be some improvement, but it won't be drastic.

However, the D90 is a great camera, so if you can afford the upgrade, I don't think you will regret it. I'm just not sure the resolution alone justifies it.

I have that same equipment. I upgraded my D60 to a D90, but kept my lenses. 70-300VR, 18-55VR (great for "family" pictures) and my 18-105, which I call my all terrain lens, basically because I can deliver enough when I'm travelling and don't want to take the other lenses. But take my opinion with a grain of salt, I'm just learning about everything that has to be learn.

Received my D90 + 70-300VR lens yesterday.Very impressed comparing un-edited images between it and my S100FS.
Wish i'd been able to upgrade sooner!
Have to have a good read through the manual now - can't wait to shoot some helis with it
