Topic: Photo Usage Request... Help! Username: teopilot Posted 2011-01-01 03:17:27 and read 3569 times.Hello everyone and happy new year!!!
I'm here to ask a question: last night I received an email with the following text:
"Hi
I am looking for pictures to add to my website 2beapilot.co.uk. I feel your picture No:1839755 of the 737 cockpit is execellent and would make a very good addition to the site.
I would be very grateful if you could grant me permission to use this picture."
[...]
this is the first time I am requested for a photo usage permission, and I don't know what to do in this situation.
I had a look to the website too, and I think it's not a commercial company, since in the "about us" field is written the following:
"2BeAPilot.co.uk was created to provide up-to-date and useful information for people interested in becomming a pilot. The website has been running since January 2008.
The website attempts to cover all aspects of aviation flying from a recrerational pilot to an airline pilot.
Mission statement:
To become a leading UK website in providing useful, update-to-date and detailed information for aviation enthusiasts wishing to become a pilot."
So, experts, What should I do?
Is it worthwhile to ask him for a little payment?
thank you very much in advance and happy new year again,
Matteo Stella

I always let other enthusiast sites use mine for free, and I get plenty of requests but if commercial they have to pay.
That is what I always do, though the choice is yours.

This way, of course, would be ok too, thanks for sharing it...
In this case, it seems the website is not for commercial purposes...
