Hello Everyone!

I'm George from Hungary a flight enthusiastic.

I will be in Manchester on next monday between 10 am and 1 pm, before my flight heading to home to Hungary.

I would like to make some photos (line-ups, taxis) in this 3 hour. Which position would you prefer for me???

I will have car with me, so i can move around the airport easily.

Thanks for your answer!

Regards,

George

You go to the Runway Visitor Park:

Hello George.

I agree strongly with Robin. As a Manchester photographer, I can assure you that photos will be better taken from the south side of the runways - especially at that time of day. As you have your own transport, then this should not be a problem, especially if you don't mind walking a little way.

The site above, plus Google, should give you the directions you need for where to go. If the 23 runways are in use, driving to the Manchester Airport Holiday Inn area off the A538 (soon after the tunnels under the runways) is a good place to head, and then walk from there.

I hope the weather is kind to you.

Paul

Hello Paul!

Thanks for the recommendation!

Is it possible to park the car at the Holiday inn park place?

Is it not reserved only for guests?

Thanks,

George

Parking is for guests only. Best to park on the lane next to the hotel.

Where the two blue (?) and red cars are: http://tiny.cc/1ncmlw

With google maps, you can actually see the worn ground leading up to a spotting location complete with spotters!

I normally park on the verge on the corner where that brownish car is. I don't park in the lane as it is very narrow and the hotel courtesy bus uses that lane. I haven't been to that area for a while but some of the path alongside the runway is VERY muddy. Almost impassable in some bits - and that was in July! I wore boots but wellingtons would have been better.

What a shame Joe's field isn't as good now.
