Question - is there any truth to the rumour that the Terrace at the Railway Station at the Eastern end of the airfield is likely to close at the end of the year? Please no speculative answers!

Where did you get that from? Both observation decks will stay open (except for snowy days).

It was taken from a mailing list. The relevant post is reproduced here:

"Whilst talking to a Dutch spotter, he was saying that local rumour is that

Not heard the rumour. But for what it's worth, in winter the observation deck closes quite often if there is ice or snow on the deck. Maybe that's what he meant?

It is very likely that it will close at or around the end of the year, since there is usually snow and ice at that time.

Fingers crossed is it only the temporary closure people are speaking of.

The payroll cost of supplying the security is probably the main running cost.
