The Dreamlifter comes in from time to time, no real set schedule. It usually parks down near Hangar 19, the old Pan Am facility, but there isn't a really good spot to shoot it there. I haven't seen an An-124 at JFK, although I've heard that it has been in once or twice in the past. I actually caught it at CLT this week.

Your best bet for JFK info is at NYCAviation - www.nycaviation.com - especially the forums there. We usually post news of any special visitors heading to the area.

As I said, they don't have a set schedule. Earlier this summer, there were two Dreamlifters at JFK, both on the ground for more than a week between flights. You really have to watch FlightAware for when and where they are flying.

That's tough to say. I'm based out of KJFK, but I usually don't go for those big birds.

There isn't really one area that 'special' aircraft can be sighted @ JFK. Some can go to areas where they can be photographed without too much of a problem, some simply 'disappear' to areas which might require ramp access. As Moose stated, NYCA is a great source of info about what's coming and going

I saw a C-5 Galaxy shooting the approach to 31R as I cleaned my backyard a few days ago; no doubt it and the C-17's and C-130's that followed it were on order to assist with Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts. No idea where it might have offloaded its cargo though
