Parking Garage - can shoot both runways though north runway can be shot regardless of wind direction, south runway best if arrivals are from the east.

Marine Drive - various spots along entire length of 28R, there wide shoulder at about midfield you'll usually see cars parked at.

NE 33rd Drive at Marine Drive - with a long lens you have a great view straight down runway 10R and if weather is good Mt Hood directly behind.

If you have a big truck or something to stand on the cell phone waiting area might work near the end of 28L but with a fence in the way.

Thanks, just to Let you know the ones along Marine drive nearest the runway have been closed, I've heard. But I think if you're along the bike path they can't do anything about you So I heard from the spotter on YouTube, buybygb.

Originally there was a parking area on Marine drive at mid field that was closed post 9/11 but people were still parking on the wide part of the shoulder where the turn off was after it was closed - that's what I was referring to. Been a while since I drove out that way so couldn't say for sure if its an enforced 'no parking' area now. As far as them 'doing' anything about you, even if on Port property so long as you aren't on the wrong side of a fence the port police have never asked me to leave or stop taking photos - just be courteous and honest about what your doing and you should be fine - and make sure you are parked legally.
