Hey all,

Thinking of popping up to LAX on Thursday for the day as i'm in Cali with nothing to do for the day.

Based on this weather forecast... http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5368361

Can i guess they might be on Easterly's in the morning and landing coming from the ocean?

Also, with no experience of shooting at LAX in the winter, will Imperial Hill be ok from 9am till sunset?

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Depends on how strong the wind is. I don't think they switch for a 3-knot tailwind. I want to say they wait till it's a ~10 knot tailwind, but I'm not sure where I got that from.

Should be.

Hope you have a good weather day! Had to cancel a 4 day trip due to rain last weekend. This was a rescheduled trip from July, had to cancel that one because of fog. United is liking those $150.00 change fees! I will bite the bullet in January and just pay out the nose a couple of days ahead of time if I see the weather looks good. Man the weather in LA is iffy.

Meanwhile, I'm out shooting in the fog and rain and loving it!

Not that iffy, but it does seem that early to mid December tends to be cloudy. Luckily for you, some of my best LAX photos were taken in January, the air is clearer and the sun is less harsh.

Indeed, you picked a good day to be here. Great visibility, great light in the afternoon/evening, etc.
