Topic: Best Equipment For Orly Airport? Username: korpenko Posted 2013-02-02 15:40:01 and read 1299 times.Hi
I am currently a member of a photography club and have access to various cameras and lenses, all from Canon :
EOS 5D mk 2
EOS 7D
And a third one not available (a 600D i think)
EF 70-200mm
EF 24-70mm
EF 300mm
(And also a speedlite flash but i don't think it will be useful)
I haven't chosen a spot yet, but i will probably be able to shoot airplanes both flying and on the ground.
Here is the airport : https://maps.google.fr/?ll=48.731681,2.356396&spn=0.045573,0.111494&t=h&z=14
What is the best time of the year/day to shoot ?
Which equipment would you recommend ?
Would you recommend a precise spot ?
Thanks

Heat haze can be a problem so now is a good time. There was a spotters site at Kerozen but it seems to have disappeared but if you look at this site
http://www.plane-mad.com/airport-spo...es/france/paris-orly-ory-lfpo.html I have used locations B and the park at D (closed on Mondays)
I have also used a long stay car park off Ave de l'Europe and moved into the cargo area where parking was easy to find as the sun moved round and on my last visit, 2 years ago now I found a new, small industrial area off Ave Henri Dunant where again it was easy to park and whilst the weather was not good, it would be a very good location I am sure in better light
