I live 2 minutes from EWR and work there also, but I can't think of any spot where you can spot/photograph without catching some undue attention from the PA or the various security on watch. I'm contemplating contacting the PA or airport management to see if I can get "permission" or a heads up as I have had run ins before. |

I never had a problem with cops pushing you away. There is just one security car that rides around the parking lot once in a blue moon. You just hide the camera. I get great shots of landings on 4. Don't go on windy days becuase when ever I go there is nothing doing. It is usually a great place to see planes land though. It is also cops safe atleast when I go in the afternoon. |

If you don't believe the view from the ground up... I saw it from a 744 landing and basically said this "DAMN!!! He was right... thats one helluva place to spot). |

For JFK I would try Howard Beahc, It's a nice little neighbourhood and I THINK you can get kind of close shots of Departing Traffic from 31L, also in the summer times, you can also get traffic landing on rwy 13L/R. Give it a try. I'll try to catch the concorde this weekend. |

As you may be able to tell from this pic, aircraft coming in are rather high in the sky, as you are quite a long way from the runway threshold. They're also fairly distant - a 747 will require 200mm, and for Jetblue A320s you'd better have a 400mm lens! ![]() |
