I've just returned after a week in Japan and went through about 40 rolls! Wonderful experience. My comments are as follows:

NRT: A+
T1 is best, with excellent landing t/o shots. If 16 is in use, all departures must taxi by; same with landings if 34 is in use. Deck stretches quite a way and it's really difficult to fault it. Most impressed. T2 also has a deck, which although excellent, is really only good for arrivals to and departures from T2. T1 deck ensures most of action is covered.

Marroad Hotel NRT. Wow! If 16 is in use, this would be perfect; even with 34 in use, acft can be captured as they taxi off.

HND: A+
Sixth floor observation deck, with further floor on top, offering panoramic view. Landing shots on 34L very easily captured, as well as (with 400m+ lens) deps from 34R. Only thing is, in February, it's BLOODY cold and being up high, you're exposed to chilly winds.

Dep. from 34R, BE ON THE RIGHT! Excellent views of airport possible.

ITM: A
La Sora observation facility runs full length of terminal roof; only problem here is that with 744s parked at terminal, tails can obstruct runway view. Inner runway 32R used by acft up to 320/734 size. Excellent flaring shots, particularly of Ys11, can be obtained. Good airport, but no international traffic.

KIX: A
If 24 in use, it's an A++ airport, as landing acft pass right by with a good few seconds to frame an excellent shot. 2 separate purpose built buildings. Even with 06 in use, some good t/o shots can be obtained, particularly if acft are Europe or US bound. Possible to see 3 SQ and 2 TG 777s on ground at once.

Right seat for arrival into KIX, if 24 is in use, superb.

Fukuoka: A+
A superb airport. Two domestic terminals; first one, used by ANK, JAC, not much to offer, but second one, nearest threshold, excellent, with superb views of landing acft. Acft parked right in front of terminal can obstruct the view a little, but an enjoyable place to be nonetheless.

The international terminal is superb for t/o shots, irrespective of which end of runway is being used. Well worth a visit and free shuttle bus operates between the two.
