Just wondering...have any of you added pics recently ? How long did you have to wait for them to get screened ? This is not meant as criticism - not at all - I just wanted to get a vague impression on how long it takes at this time...maybe some screeners are on vacation or something.

I'd say around a month, maybe more. (honest answer)

  Hopefully they can sort it out and not allow photogs to keep their place when they keep uploading, maybe they could either:

1) have all their photos go back to the end
2) have just the photos they just uploaded go back to the end while the ones they uploaded before stay in their place up ahead

Yeah its quirky, I've had photos take 2 months to be uploaded, and I've had photos uploaded the next day. But usually it does take a few weeks to get uploaded.

When it happens quick - it is great. Time sometimes crawls - othertimes it happens WAY TOO FAST. Enjoy it while you have it. Believe me - there will come a day when you wish it will slow down...

I guess it just depends on which screeners are screening when you upload your photos. I have 20 photos in the DB now and the longest I have had to wait for first screening results is about 3 or 4 hours, with the accepted photos being put in the database about 24 hours after that, give or take a little bit.

Also a thought. Do First class members get to "jump line" in the screening process? I am a first class member and have noticed that things seem to get done alot quicker than some of you on this forum post about.....just curious.

Chris - it probably is true that First Class members get to go to the front of the line, but of course the screeners deny it... I smell some BS.

My pics usually get added within a period of 4-12 hours. I have had a good acceptance rate.

As a screener AND First class member, I don't get any special breaks as far as the queue is concerned. I have 500 people and about 2700 pictures in front of my 65 shots, some of which have been waiting a month. It seems very frustrating when those 500 keep adding new shots, and the 2700 number seems to yo-yo a bit but never really seems to go down!

The problem is that we are in summer, it's the holidays, and a lot of people are out taking pictures, and not so many are at home screening pictures. But the screeners are still working - we screen about 7000 shots per week.

Be patient, and if you want to help, upload only your very best shots for a while. I expect we'll be able to reel in that queue in September.

Today it's pouring miserably in Geneva, so I'll be doing a lot of screening today.

As for your accusations about us giving priority treatment to FC members...Believe it or not, there's no way for us to tell...Amazing isn't it?

Guys, drop the whining over first class members being having more priority. Its getting OLD quick. Common, Charles said that they don't have priority or anything, so let it be.

I am not a First Class Member and I am getting my uploads super quick, what does that tell you? It means that First Class is to support A.net. It is NOT saying here is some money, now will you squeeze my photos in quicker. Give me a break.

Now if you have photos in the queue, they will get sreened and uploaded as screeners get to them. Let it be. There are only so many screeners you know, so let the queue flow and Im sure the number of photos waiting to be screened will drop sooner or later.

I can tell you that from my experience: I have 10 waiting for Johan (bad border cases, eh? hey...they're not THAT bad!!). They've been waiting for him for a month so far and Johan's queue isn't getting any smaller. So, whenever I upload now it's like I have a place in the queue because of the ones waiting for the Boss. So, I'm just going about my life not worrying about those 10 pics......but as a side effect from that I guess you could say, I always have 137 photogs in front of me - not more. This means my new uploads will get quicker attention than yours.

Thanks for that comment Shawn... There has been a lot of comment about screeners being biased recently, or some people getting priority over others. One thing you can be sure of - if you keep making comments like that, accusing the people who are trying to help the situation of spouting BS, then there may well be some priorities and bias introduced into the system.

We might just all start being very biased against YOUR pictures... We can't influence the order in which pictures are presented to us. But we could certainly pass all of your pictures to Johan which means they might be stuck in the system for even longer, or we could keep bouncing them around asking for second opinions, or we could just reject them with some inane rejection reason.

There's absolutely NO bias, no priorities - I know where the smell of BS is coming, and its not the people running the site.

If I could voice out a suggestion, maybe those photographers who are waiting long, would like to check out the photo stats page? Its like a "where is your picture at" thingie similar to the Fedex online tracking. It could be at some stage where they're all waiting for Johan (who I might add would take some time before looking at the pix), or they could be in HQ queue or somewhere. This goes to show that your pix have been looked at and awaiting further approval or something.

I'm not sure just how many people do this. Just my 2C worth.

I don't know if someone can clarify this for me.

I've been looking at the acceptance graph on the photo upload page, and it seems that photographs which fall into the "High Quality" bar are screened faster.

I don't know how this happens or if I'm 50 miles wide of the mark...can someone help please?

Johan's been away from screening the border queue now for quite a time. I had a border case screened by him in June....and uploaded in June in which some got added to the border queue again...and from then on the queue has grown.....now it's over 1100 strong including several of mine. From June till now has indeed been quite some time....

Might i ask when we might expect to see the "borderline queue" shrink back?
