Thought this shot would be a good one to bring up. It really is interesting, looks like its landing right in some farmers field. I wonder what the zoom was on this shot, must have been quite large.

Hell yeah! I really like these shots, Gerardo that edelweiss pic is stunning Smokin cool .

I can do it at my airport too, only problem is the sun is usually the other side, so its only possible on cloudy days Smile .

.....From my photo experience-I'd say that is no more than a 500mm telephoto-because of the depth of field on the subject.....I took a 1000mm photo at SFO in the 1970's of a British Airways 747 and a PSA 727 landing wingtip to wingtip-take from the side and slightly ahead-and it looks like they're touching each other-it's B&W photo though is why I've never posted it on this db.

Thanks a lot. But talking about problems: this spot is only good until about 9.00 or 10.00 AM. The big birds arrive between 6.00 and 7.00. That't pretty early, don't you think? Smile/happy/getting dizzy

BTW, your shot looks cool. What an angle!!

As said, I know that spot, and I would say, 200mm to 250mm would be the absolute maximum to be used there. I have uploaded a few pics, which were taken there. All of them were taken with my Sony F707 without TC, what means, with a maximum of 190mm.

Gerardo - 6-7am is fine!!! I got up at 5am when I went to MAN for the weekend a couple of months ago, only to find it was cloudy Sad . But unless you have a huge journey, its worth waking up that early!! Those pictures are stunning.

I want to go to ZRH so bad Sad . Gerardo if I ever get round to coming i'll give you a shout, ok!!!
