Hello Experts,

Can anyone give me an idea on what hotel may recommended for having a great view of Manchester Airport? (If there is any)

I know there are airport hotels listed - but not sure which one has the best location if one wants to take a photo.

THANKS

cheers,
david

I dare claim that the best undoubtably is the Robinsons Airport Hotel (and pub) at the end of rwy25R. It offers one of the best views for aircraft departing and arriving on rwy25R. You can see the hotel in the following pics:

It's only a small place, so I recon it would be wise to book early in advance. You aren't likely to get to much sleep either i bet, with the noise and flying motivs.  Smile

Good luck anyway.

There's also the Radisson SAS hotel inbetween terminals 1 and 2. Ask for a room overlooking the apron and you'll get quite a good view of the west side of the airport.

Radisson SAS offers some good views as you can see from above.

Another to consider is possibly the Moat House. You can't actually see the airport from the Hotel, but it is in a great position next to the new runway where the best photo spots are. You'll struggle to get to these spots from other areas of the airport without a car (if you don't plan to hire one?) but they'll be a 10 minute walk from the Moat House, then again you can't actually see anything from the rooms.

Wish I'd seen this thread before I booked a room at the Marriot!

No view at all at the Marriott. I stayed there in May (because it was free). They have a very friendly courtesy bus driver (I think his name is Paul) and he'll tell you all about the places to shoot from and even drop you off and pick you up if you like. When are you going? I've got a print I'd like to send to Paul.
