AMS Spotters:

Just curious how spotting at AMS around the end of November is? I used to remember around that time the weather can get pretty gloomy, cloudy and cold. Correct me if I am wrong. I am expressing interesting spotting at AMS for a couple of day around the end of November. What is the ideal spotting season at AMS?

Is anyone local or flying into AMS be interested in meet-up to spot?

Cheers - Jay

Jay,

Weather in Nov can indeed be pretty gloomy, cloudy and cold. With a small chance of a nice early winters day. Best season is really: any sunny day.

I cannot possibly say if I will have time at the end of November, but let us know the times and dates by then, and we'll see. Good idea to come to AMS before all the blue planes are gone  Crying  Crying  Crying  Crying

End of november is a bit vague for me just now. As long as it is in the weekend I should be able to join you. I do come by train/bus so I can't come any earlier than 09:30! Just tell me when you arrive:

Sure does, Tim.
KLM are planning learn a lot from Air France:
They hope to save EUR 100 million a year on washing their aircraft.

So you should not see any blue in half a year or so  Big grin

Sorry I haven't checked this thread in a day. LOL... that is why I want to take the opportunity before Air France takes over and daily showers like good normal citizens are gone  Smile.

It sounds November is an un-preditable time for dodging bad weather and knowing when the good cold sunny AMS day will be. If that is the case I am also considering making it over there at the end of October instead.

Could all of you guys let me know you schedule when you may be available so I can plan my trip around you guys availability. At the moment I am planning to come in on Thursday and leaving Sunday. Would anyone of you guys be availble to spot on Friday and Saturday?

Looking forward to hearing from you guys but I will also CC all of you to let you know what are the possible dates.

Cheers - Jay

If you try to be there Saturday the 25th. There should be lots of us that day, as the first 777 of KLM arrives at 08:30. I will be there, unless the weather is pretty gloomy, cloudy and cold.

Only the 11th or the 18th.

The 23th/24th/25th I'll be at LHR getting some more Concorde shots. Already counting down the days! Big grin

0830 is the only time I've seen so far. You never know though! I expect that the various lists (dutch-spotters etc.) will provide more accurate info when the 25th approaches.

So Jay, can you make it the 25th?

Martin

It is too early to say at this point cause October is already here and I still have to settle on the travel documents and work schedule. Give me till the end of next week to figure out all possible travel and vac. schedule. Gosh... i love to make it there for the new KL B77XER.

Guys drop me a line and I will should be able to tell give a more conclusive detail weather my trip to AMS will be possible.

Martin, are you spotting alone at LHR on 23rd, 24th, and 25th?

Cheers - Jay

Did anyone read the newspapers today about a possible strike the 11th at the public transportation! Is this confirmed or rumoured? If it is confirmed I won't be able to come the 11th either, that would leave only the 18th.  Sad
