I just thought it worthy to mention that resident airliners.net photographer Frank Schaefer recently passed over into the 3,000,000+ hits "club"! This is both testament to his dedication and loyalty to this website and also to his skill as a photographer.
Frank doesn't shoot digital, he shoots K64 and every shot in his 9000+ here has been scanned and edited which as we all know takes an enormous amount of time to do.
I'd just like to congratulate him on achieving 3 million plus hits and wish him well in achieving the next 3 mill.....
Here is his first and latest - how the times have changed!

Great pics! Congrats, Frank!! Frank Schaffer is one of those famous names, which has been popping up on a regular basis, since I'm interested in aviation photography.
Let's assist him to get into the 4'000'000 hits club, then. ....Click....Click....

Yep, definitely: size of aircraft increased, number of engines decreased...
Cheers

Thanks guys ...
Just done some calculations on this ....
Since I started uploading in July 1999 to today 9572 of my shots have been added to the database ...
Average time needed for scanning / photoshop / uploading is about 6 minutes ... Lets calculate that !
9572 x 5 = 57432 Minutes = 952.20 hours = 39.88 days ....
Plus approximately 500 shots that I have re-scanned and re-uploaded sofar ...
OK - I need to get a life !!!!!
Anyway - thanks to all of you guys out there that keep looking at my pics and your support - there is more to come ... 10000 pictures online is the next goal !

LoL - Frank, speaking of the Wallabies, how do you think they will fare? My money is on the Poms at the moment (Darn Pommies!). But then again, I prefer cricket to rugby, and in that department - the Aussies have kicked butt all over the globe... Especially the Poms!!!

Hi Frank,
Congratulations of passing the 3 million mark.
Keep up the excellent work.
I can only say I wish I saw you out there more often. Glad I had the chance to meet you those couple of weeks back. Would have liked to have a slide show on your wall there and then (upon seeing you amazing collection - I could have been fixated on the shots for several hours - maybe another time)
Regards,
Glenn Stewart

Soulman - hopefully the Wallabies will rise up to the occasion .... as long as we keep beating the poms in soccer I'm happy anyway .....
Glenn - yes - was good to meet you, too ... I did quite a few sessions at the airport this winter - unfortunately you seem to stay away from my favorite and only morning spot (The corner) and i don't like shooting from The Mound at all ! This fence is just annoying ... and unless its a perfect sunny day i won't even make it to the airport (yes- i am spoiled) ... so with summer coming up shooting will be limited again to very early morning or late pm ... surely i will catch you one afternoon on the new observation deck ...
For the slides - there are about 30.000 - 35.000 at my place ... would take u some time to see them all ... haven't seen them properly myself for a long time ...

Craig,
u still haven't been around to my new place mate .... about time ....
And then again i haven't been to ur place .....
To be quite honest ... i don't think that I have seen most of my slides properly on the wall via projector .... as soon as i get them i put them away into the boxes ...
Hey - at least i managed to get a new light bulb for my projector on my last trip to Germany .... took me only about one year ....
U should come around one nite ... still owe u a couple of beers for the camera lease ....
