aloha guys,

rejected ....... , cause:

The photos were of low esthetic qualities - bad angle, included
window reflections (for shots taken through glass such as terminal windows),
pictured just a part of an aircraft (with no motivation, like a special
sticker, damage etc., for doing so), out of focus, distracting or
obstructing objects in the foreground or similar (this is especially true
for gate shots which are very difficult to get accepted due to their common
nature and the large amount of ancilliary equipment which usually surrounds
the aircraft) or did not picture an aircraft or anything sufficiently
related to aviation at all. Finally, you might read this because your camera
displays the date in the lower right corner of the image. If so, please
disable that feature in the future.

the main reason is:

pictured just a part of an aircraft (with no motivation, like a special
sticker, damage etc., for doing so)

but, excuse me, srry, i think it is very interesting, is the screener a bit tight with his reason ....

what do you guys think??

I guess one of the inherent problems with "parts pictures" is to define just how small/important/big a part has to become before it is included in the DB.

For some reason, painted winglets are ok, so are tail shots, etc. Personally I find this type photo like your gear shot interesting to view. But the flip side of this is when someone shoots just the disc brake assembly or caliper assembly. Where do you draw the line? Just because the part is part of an airplane, does it automatically get into the DB. Tough call.

Can any screener elaborate further on policy towards "Aircraft Parts Photos".

i think its a very interesting photo, the undercarriage is a very important part of the a/c, why not have a detailed shot of it. i ran into a similar problem with a detialed photo of the electronics bay of a BAe146 that i photographed.

the strange thing is that these parts of the aircraft are the most important and the least photographed. it got dumped for badmotiv.

Robin

Low quality image. To me looks like an image that is too soft and has been sharpened to compensate.

While I was not the one who rejected, I would agree 100% with the screener who did.

Robin,

It's a nice photo, but I don't think there's a chance get it into the database. The reasons have already been stated. You can still try airplanetire.net...

But by the way... who is Julia? Did she help you to reach the 500 picture-mark a bit sooner?  Wink/being sarcastic
