As most of you know, I live about 4 miles from FZO and so when I heard that G-BOAF was coming here to be preserved I was pretty much ecstatic. I was going to make sure I most certainly nailed it when it arrived on November 26th. Unfortunetely, like most things I try and do, it wasn't as simple as that.. I was given a ticket to stand inside the airfield with some competition winners which I assumed would give me a good view.

After all, the police said they'd be moving people on from the perimiter and I didn't really know anywhere else. Seemed good enough to me, I assumed we'd be outside the hangars where they hold the friends and family day. But instead we were put on the North Side by the Royal Mail building. Add to that, my lift was 1 hour late so we had to stand back from the fence, and a plethora of other things that went wrong that day (my 75-300mm packed up too).

So in the end, I was left with only a few poor photos and a broken camera. I found out the next day it was possible to get up by the radar and look down on the whole crowd, and that everyone there had a really good view of everything. How pissed was I.

So anyway, one photo got accepted, but obviously it wasn't very good. I knew the others weren't up to standards and they weren't anything near as good as what i'd wanted, but they got rejected.

Just wanted to show you this, pretty much summed up my day, dark, wet, sad, and behind a crowd of ignorant tossers.
