The bigger the better. Of course, larger sizes cost significantly more - one of the reasons I went over to slides.

I agree with Cfalk to the bigger the image the more it cost to get them developed.

Otherwise I think also if you use a flatbed scanner, the use of a bigger image will result in a photo with more details then when the photo is smaller.
