Hi,

On odd occasions when out shooting with the D30, all my images are coming out as black shots, sometimes one has the occasional line through the image. I think this is my card but I am not too sure.

Does this happen to any other D30 users? It's a f*c*i*g pain in the ass as I think that I am happy shooting away, then when I go to preview some of my shots and they are all black!!!! (Happened @ LGW when the Gulf Air A340 came past  Sad)

Regards,

Which mode you're using? If you're in manual mode, It could be severe underexposure.

Never happened to me in over 2 years.

Nothing to do with exposure.......think it may be a card related problem.
More info on card you are using, how old, where you got from?

Cheers

Gary

Sorry to hear that Justin!

Not experienced it myself, and hope I never do... I can see how that might be rather annoying!

Cheers!

Ohhhh!!!  Laugh out loud

My card is a '256 MB Dane-Elec' card. The card is quite new not sure where it came from to be honest.

Your right Rez, it's very annoying  Sad

Did you purchase the card yourself?

If it is quite new, should still be under some sort of warranty. Worth checking.
Try their website if they have one and explain.

Cheers

Nope it came with the Camera when my ol man passed it on (sold) to me.

It might be worth me getting a new card. What's the best value for money at the moment?!

Maybe worth getting a new card......but the card MAY not be at fault.

Go for a mid sized card and see what is available at a cost you can afford. If all works well you can always buy bigger in time for the Summer (If we get one)

I've been using IBM Microdrives since the start and happy with them. A 1GB card cost me about 150.00GBP last year but I know they have dropped in price.

Various places on the Net but have a look at http://www.scan.co.uk
That's where I got my one.

Bloody hell.....it's down to 116.00 GBP now!

Cheers

Gary

Cheers Gary £116.33 for the 1 GB these days. Which isn't bad.

I just hope that my camera is safe and well!

Hi Justin,

Just a thought, when you press the shutter, can you hear the shutter opening and closing, only i read in a thread someone having a similar problem, but the top shutter was sticking. When they viewed the pictures, the top half of the image was all black.

Hope its not, but worth checking.

Chris.

Yep I recall that the shutter did open and close.

Will have to triple check next time (if it does) the situation occurs.

Thanks Chris  Smile
