I need some scanned too.. I suck at it.. I have Dimage Dual Scan II and am about to toss it out the window, along with my slides.

The Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II can produce good scans, certainly good enough for a.net - you just need to be prepared to play around with the settings quite a bit to get a good setup (don't ask me, because my Scan Dual II broke and now I use a Nikon Coolscan, although I can say that in the early days VueScan helped me a lot and I found it easier than the Minolta software). One thing for sure though, no scanner will make good of a bad slide. A slide may look good when its held up to the light, or even when projected, but only a high quality loupe will allow you to really assess how good the slide is, and if it isn't any good then there's little chance for it no matter what you do. My recommendation to Maiznblue - stick with trying to find the sweet spot from the Dual Scan II and it will deliver.
