Been back a week now and I must say, if you are thinking of going to YVR for a trip, don't think anymore, just go. I know that the back ground is almost as important as the subject and in YVR it is breath taking!

Hey Grant,
Good to hear that all went well. During this time of the year the weather is usually pretty rough to deal with because most of the times its cloudy or rainy.
Looks like the guys(rob and rich) showed you and Kaz the wonderful AVIS lot.
Its pretty hard to leave that place once your there as its just about a photographers dream.
Both you and him pulled off some nice shots Well done!
I hope to return there again someday.
On your flight back ya happen to fly over Calgary?
Bo

Exitrow, I think its you that i have heard lots about from Dripstick! Ya the mountains were great with snow, too bad it snowed too much so we only saw them for like 3 hours.... I would like to go in the summer as well, but hey i was just lucky and fortunate to be invited!!

Grant... Don't believe that Dripstick character. Whatever he said about that night we had at Hooters here in Seattle is patently FALSE! I can't even pronounce "areola..."
Royal... I think Bronko's looking to go too. You still got that sweet ride (Landrover)? I will NOT, however, sing "100 bottles of beer on the wall" all the way up to Vancouver.

Hehe we are all over YVR!
When you plans to come to YYC finalize let me know, Itd be good shootin some planes with a Toronto guy for once.
I am thinking that my next trip to YVR will be summer time.. Just in time for TAHITI NUI! and KLM MD11 plus the usual goodies that YYC won't ever get to see unless there is a diversion or some special charter.

Count me in.
We can share the 600L David. Actually... splitting the costs over a weekend comes out to $40 a piece. And we won't even have to share with Royal since he's got his cute little D100.
I'd love to try and get some shots from the park at the end of 26L, like Alan's beauty:

Not really Royal... in winter, I'd say 75% of the time it's 08s (like Alan's shot). Just that getting 08s and good sun is about 1-2%. But, I guess you digi-whores don't need sun

I might decide to return to YVR around summer 2004 since i have not been there since 2002. I have a free ticket on southwest which i could take to seattle and drive up. not to mention shoot at Seattle. And my ticket is "must-ride" so when i say GO i GO.

Hello Grant,
Welcome to Vancouver. Vancouver is one of the most beatiful airport in Western Canada. All asian aircrafts have to stop here. I am sure that you have gone to the right place to take photos.
I am now currently in Victoria and there are only quite a few airlines to spot. However, I do always go to Vancouver to take some shots.

Okay I thought I would chime in... The trip was a lot of fun we were out spotting 20 minutes after landing and getting the rental car (SUV).
We spent approx. 8hrs a day spotting, then watched the ballet at night!
Got some great pics.. from the airport

25 ACB777: Grant, are you allowed to park in the Avis lot and sit in the car and watch planes there? My dad said that next time he takes me spotting, we'll park
27 Clickhappy: park on the access road leading to the Avis lot and stand on the grass along the fence, you'll be fine
28 ExitRow: Next time, we should rent a HUGE SUV from Avis. Split the costs amongst four or five people for one day's rental. Then park it in that lot, stand on t
29 Airbus Lover: ExitRow, good idea I was actually thinking of that but I do not know many spotters here (yet) but I'd definitely chip in if it happens over summer and
