I am traveling to LA this weekend (Thursday) and will have lots of free time in which I would like to take the opportunity to get some photos at LAX. Unfortunetely, I don't know the area well, or what places are good to spot planes, and the time of day that it is the best (lots of int'l flights)...where should I go???

Imperial Hill on the south side of the airport. Great location for departures from the south runways.

The area around the Inn and Out burger for arrivals on the north side.

These are probably the best spots, tho there are others. If I was time limited I would go to these two.

As Royal said, there are several threads you should be able to find that go into great detail and one should have a map of the area.
