Got out on Monday for the first time for an extended period (stopped by Brown on Friday for a short time) in 2 weeks, even though I was sick (still am) with Pnumonia, it was great to get out. What a beautiful sunny day... the haze was terrible though. Dont know if there was a fire somewhere close by or not. It seems worse lately for some reason. Anyone else in SD notice this? Maybe its normal....

I see heaps of haze in the background. Can hardly see the mountains...
Smog?

edit: Or fog?  Smile

Look in the background... Not heat haze... It was in the high 60's.

Friday was fairly decent... This hasnt been the norm lately though.

Nice shots anyway! The summers in Brussels where sometimes the same, after rain and a strong wind it got better though.

Thanks Steffan... I hope to get out there this weekend again... I love SDM... Nobody bothers me out there, and there always seems to be some surprises... It can be very busy with aircraft coming in from Mexico to pass customs. I just hope we can get some crystal clear days... I know summer is coming and it might not be that realistic, but, hey, I can hope.

AIRLINERS.NET CREW
PHOTO SCREENER

lol has this forum reached the point where even pre-screened shots are being plugged?

What a waste.

Chad,

Part of the problem is all the ash from the fires. Just a little wind stirs it up and makes the haze just that much worse. Went flying a few weeks ago in a helicopter and we toured out east where it burned (and along the edges of Otay Lakes). You can smell the ash in the air....We are going to be stuck with that for some time, tho this rain will help wash some of it away.

Try going down by the base of the tower by EAA. Good taxi shots there and most of the bus jets rotate just about equal with the tower. (thats where most of my SDM shots are from.)

Tony

Tony, isnt that off limits? What are you doing Friday? I was planning on heading down that way. Maybe we can finally meet up? My Canon 100-400 L IS will be here Friday, hopefully in the morning. If not, Ill still go. Fridays tend to be busy down there.

Let me know.

Chad,

No, it is open to you. Just drive through the gate and follow the old taxi way around to eaa. Best parking is there at the east side of the tower on the dirt. Just don't go past the north fence/traffic cones and they are happy.

Might be able to make it Friday and the weather should be clear...Set a time by email.
