I did the best I could to clean this shot up... This was a slide. I hope the fact that there are so few photos from TVC, that will carry it... Your thoughts?

AIRLINERS.NET CREW
PHOTO SCREENER

Chad, it won't make it. Too much grain and contrast, plus it really isnt showing anything.

What makes it worth of being accepted?

"Dig?"

I think you're the one who doesn't dig what kind of photos have a chance or not.

Sure, but this one lacks in quality, sometimes we must move on to the next photo.

Just keep in mind with regard to airport overviews, that usually they are taken from a raised vantage point, or from a departing aircraft.

Whilst it might be interesting to you, we can't really see much in the picture because you are on the ground.

I'd just keep the slides for prosterity and concentrate on digital for A.net.

I see no purpose in creating a thread to discuss whether a photo will "make it" when that photo is already in the queue. After you click the "submit" button the only opinions that count are the screeners so it makes no difference what WE think.

The right time to ask about a certain photo is BEFORE it is uploaded.

Also, if you are so sure a photo won't make it then why upload it? POst it here and get some opinions and then decide. The queue is already at record levels (there's a whole other thread on that...)

just me $ 0.02

I'm sure 2 photos won't hurt the queue... I took an airport overview shot once from above, it was my first time ever shooting, and the first time with my camera, and it got accepted!

I know, it is only 2 photos out of 7,800 but when you start having hundreds of photographers doing that it adds up....

Anyway, If I said hey I love that photo it should definitely be on the database that won't help much when you open the email that reads "the following photos have been rejected....."  Smile

The second shot might have a chance, because it is accident-related. The first one is hopeless.
