AIRLINERS.NET CREW PHOTO SCREENER
Hi Guys,
Not quite av.photography, but considering I have to back up all of my pics, it is somewhat related.
I just bought an external hadrd drive, 80GB to back up all of my files. Installed the drivers, turned the hard drive on, but for the life of me (and this is on two computers!) I can't locate the drive, in windows explorer, my computer.................anywhere..............can someone help please. I'm tearing my hair out. Do I have to somehow map this new drive.

Andy, 1 issue I had was I formatted my 80 gig Hard Drive on a Win XP pro machine, then tried to mount it (heh) on a Win ME machine, but they use different file system types, so I had to but a utility that allowed me to mount (heh heh) an XP drive to a non XP machine.

For the XP machine, I'm surprised that it didn't show up under Explorer as a Removable drive. If you connect your DSLR via USB does it show up in Explorer? I know you mentioned you did turn it ON so we'll skip that step (I always do something stupid like forgot to turn it ON) Does the External have a power supply and if so did you plug it in? (I know...just gotta ask) Is the USB Cable a known working cable? I like to check the easy stuff first before digging into the hard stuff.

Mike,
All done........!
you know what, my feeling is that it is something with the drivers. I'm going to email the guys, hope they speak English, and let's see what happens from there.
