Be patient Andrew. I am getting the D70 as an interim [backup] DSLR until some sort of D100 derivative is finally announced [ala D200], probably before the end of the year. If/when that happens the D70 will be relegated to "car duty", as in I keep it in the car for those random gruesome traffic accidents and/or car fires [carbeques], or train derailments; not to mention that remaining D100s will plummet in price.

Don't get married, don't have kids, and you will have more money than you know what to do with...

Here in Canada I was told that the D70 including its standard lens will be priced around $1800 CAN dollars. Not bad! But I'm sure all the extras associated with the new camera will topple over $2000.
Supposed to come out in a few weeks. Mar25 sounds about right.

As what Bo said, my local store is saying that it will be in stock in Calgary on March 30th, retailing with the kit for I believe $1999.99 or there abouts. I think this will decrease rather quickly considering that a D100 body retails new for $2050.00 CAD.

That is expensive, but its going to be cheaper on some shops on the net.
