If I were you, the day I got it, I will haul ass to the airport.

I bought my 80-400mm VR 2 weeks ago, and the next day, I was using it at LAX. Talk about luck. My lense arrived the day before my trip to Los Angeles and Dallas-Ft. Worth.

This lens allowed me to take this picture from across Boston harbor which has to be around a 1/4 mile away.

My first shots with MY big daddy, I used Tony Z's lens for a few shots in Mid February.... I had it in mode 1 (the wrong mode) but they still turned out ok.

I've always used mine in Mode 1 for still and moving subjects. My opinion is that the images generally turn out sharper. Any experiences anyone would like to share?

Nice pictures , but in my opinion something is wrong with the way you sharpen the pictures , they do look oversharpen....

Just don't get me wrong, this is my first impression...

I didnt do anything different other than use the focus feature a little. It seemed like the markings on the aircraft were a bit out of focus for some reason.

I also shot in mode 1. Dont know if that had much to do with it.
