Hello,
Hopefully someone can help me out here. I went to several shops today, looking at the 300D with/without lenses, and their prices. There was one package, where I could get the 300D with the "standard package lens". Someone who knows which this lens might be, can you tell me if it's any good? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Sebastian
P.S. Quick answers appreciated, as I want to buy it very soon .
EDIT:
I believe it's the Canon EF-S f1:3,5-5,6/18-55mm lens, but correct me if I am wrong...any advice appreciated!

I guess that's what happens in the end, you start thinking about the beginning.

Yes, and I was wondering if someone can tell me if it's worth giving it a try before I buy another more expensive lens, or if it doesn't give good photos anyways.

It's an ok lens. I got it with mine simply because it can't be bought afterwards and because I needed a general purpose lens (including a little bit of wide angle) for general purpose picture taking, and wanted to put the bulk of my money towards a higher quality zoom lens.
Compared to my 70-200L it's noisy and slow (no USM), but then again it isn't a £500 lens. For the price (over the body only), it's not too bad at all. If you are looking for high quality, then you may be better off looking a more expensive option. There's nothing really stunning about it and neither have I been dissatisfied with it on a general purpose photo level. I've never really used it for anything else, so couldn't comment with any accuracy.
