Who cares. But would a real man use a camera called a Kiss?  Nuts

it´s only in Japan

unless you could get it from there, the rest of the world is still silver.

You´re absolutely right, that logo on the front ruins everything, there must be a way to detach it, and if there isn´t, it alone makes the silver look much better.

While black looks nice on the 1D MK II the 10D and so on, I don't like it on the 300D, I also like my silver one better.

Cheers

I was planning on getting a 10D, but if the Rebel is available in Black, I have no reason not to forgoe the 10D. Match the body color and they're pretty much the same camera, no?  Big grin

Mike,

NO. they are not the same.

I'm not buying one, nor did I suggest it is any better then the silver body. I just figured that it might appeal to those wanting a black body.

Same camera as the 10D?

Wait until you want to shoot a moving object with a 300D, what a deception.

Maybe a man who is comfortable with his sexuality???

I'm goin for the Black one, looks 50 times better, IMO.

Thanks Jeff for posting that! Anyway, I'm off to school.

Btw - I'm applying to Wolf Camera this weekend or next, so hope I get a job and hope I get some benefits.  Big thumbs up

excellent!, I just ordered my 10d battery grip from B&H, but I still need to pick up the 100-400, so hurry up!

Just kidding... good luck with Wolf, i'm thinking that could be a fun place to work, and you will probably learn a thing or two as well.

The Rebel has been called "Kiss" in Japan for about 10-15 years I think. They won't call a black-bodied Rebel or 300D a "Kiss" if it sells outside of Japan. Nothing has changed there.

I remember a quote from Ken Rockwell that slammed the 300D for being silver and not looking pro... so those people who buy the black Rebels are suddenly more pro than the silver users- with the same camera... LOL!

I do like the sleeker black look, but the silver was pretty cool too.

Ooooh, very nice. I think I might go out and buy one....NOT! Don't have the money for nice toys like that.  Sad But maybe someday...and when I do, it will be the black one.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I think I'll continue to save for the 10D. I like the magnesium alloy, I think it will support the glass I'll eventually have a little bit better than the plastic.

Well, I would like to buy Canon 300D at first, however, the siliver body made me hesistate. However, one of the Airliners.net photographer Anthony Cheng asked me to wait for Nikon D70. And here I have bought a Nikon D70. I think black body is better than Silver body.

Bowen - if your last comment is what I think it is, then I'll have to disagree.

Body is basically only for looks and protection (minor protection).

The fact that a black camera (in this case at lest) looks better, then that's a whole 'nother story.

Well, as long as you're sure you're gay, then I guess it's OK Big grin Hey, you know I'm just kidding with you! From what others have said, it doesn't sound as though this version will be available outside Japan.

Wow...it's amazing how many of you are concerned with the looks of your equipment. I'm guessing some of you chose Canon so you could use a white lens too, right (and I'm talking about for the color only)?  Wink/being sarcastic To me, it's what comes out of my camera that really matters...
