Hi,

I finally got into the 'Digital SLR world' last week and I've been playing around with my D70. Unfortunately, wx has been really poor, so far I have only tried it once out there. I'll share some of the work...

Ricardo,

Nice shots! I have been sorely tempted by the D70 (especially as I just got my bonus Big grin). What lens are you using? I have been lusting after the Nikkor 70-200 VR lens, but that might have to wait for next year's bonus  Sad

I enjoyed my recent visit to MEX, but I was surprised at how few widebody aircraft you get there. Still, there was some nice stuff there. Keep up the good work.

> Does the AutoIso work for you???

Definitely, NO! The more auto features I use the more crazy I get. I keep the camera on P (auto-exposure only) and set the rest of it the way I want – ISO 200 only. If I can shoot ISO 100 film under all conditions then ISO 200 should be no problem.

Could somebody post a photo of his D70 on this website and the BEFORE post-processing photo?

I want to see the RAW data image. Thanks.

Scbriml,

Im using a
- Nikkor AF Zoom 70-300mm f/4-5.6G

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit in MEx. Would love to see your pics from MEx in DB! And yes, we have a very few widebody operations during light hours unfortunately!

Sunil,

Ok then I will use it on ISO 200. I tried the Auto Iso and almost missed that Tikal Jets because of that. I was lucky to have a sharp plane on the second photo, but the first pic turned out blurry.

Karlok,

Give me a few mins and I'll upload a photo to my site before post-processing.

This topic is making me jealous! I tried to buy a D70 on Monday but they were out of stock. The store I chose because they accept trade-ins said they had sold 106 D70s in 2 weeks. I have to wait until the end of the month.  Crying

747_4-ever,

As soon as your pics get into the DB, post your work! Would love to see it!

Olympus69,

Patience! Paitence! I first wanted the D100 (a year ago, you know.. I have to save for it) a year later that I had the money, D70 was released and had to wait for 3 more months. So just imagine all that time! End of the month its nothing hehe  Big thumbs up

I have just bought my D70 yesterday. It just arrived Victoria on 6 April and all of them have been sold out in the town on 9 April.

I have tried to go to airport and spot some aircrafts. I have uploaded some into the database and waiting to be screened. If they have passed the screening, then, I will post some here.

For the question about Auto ISO above, well I haven't used that. I keep using ISO 200 for the best quality. I have also tried two RAW photos on a Air Canada Jazz Dash 8 and Horizon Air Dash 8. Other photos were taken in Fine mode.

It turned out to be dust inside the camera, from when the camera was produced..

Just out of curiosity...how did you determine the origin of such dust?

Too bad to know you have this problem! I had it also on my first camera. Went to Ritz Camera a week later and returned the old one and they gave me a new one! Now everything is perfect!!
