It was already once rejected, for "badsoft". Due to the distance, the image is very blurry... here ist the recjected picture:

it´s a KC135 Stratotanker, only 5 imgs of these type on a.net, this reg is first time on a.net

http://airliners.net/procphotos/rejphoto.main?filename=kc_135_al.jpg

What I did to improve the image:

* downsized to 1376x800 pixels
* sharpened

nevertheless, the distance can´t be removed from the picture - it will alway be blurry *g*

here is the new image:

fullsize: http://neo.wer-ist-deiner-meinung-nach-technologiefuehrer.de/images/kc135.jpg

Before I upload the picture again - "first time/rare" vs. "low quality" - what do you think?

btw. visibility was excellent on that day - the houses on the hills in the background are app. 20 - 25 km away from the airport  Smile

regards

stefan

I think it's a great shot...but the 2 poles and heat haze really kills the picture...

May be some pros here can give you an extra hand... Smile

Good luck

Would be great - I still have the original image on my laptop I think - unfortunately not RAW, but 3000 pix JPEG

Very good pic man! Although.....I think the second pic has a few "jaggies".

I think your mistake was taking the original pic in a 1600x "xxx" dimension

Just my 2 cents

Nice bird!

It's the heat haze that makes the plane look soft. I would try resizing the pic to 1024px but as you already wrote: "It will always be blurry."  Sad

Stefan:

Sorry, but it's not a unique shot. A rough search gives 63 KC-135's...

http://airliners.net/search/photo.search?keywords=KC-135&keywrange=aircraft

...and at least two with same registration (please, note that correct registration should be 59-1507).

Even if it was a "first time", we couldn't lower much the bar, unless we think is very unlikely that the aircraft is going to be photographed again, as it would happen with old shots.

Anyway, as you assume, haze is very difficult to avoid!  Big grin

Regards!

That can give you an idea of how important and complex is the database standarization!  Smile
