What Is A Good Digital Camera To Get?

I want to start taking aviation photos that I can upload to Airliners.net. What is a good camera to get? I want a camera that isn't that expensive (maximum $750 Canadian) and is a good quality camera. Also, where's the best place to get these cameras? I only see small digital cameras at electonic shops that I go to. Is Ebay any good?

Thanks! Is there a lens attatchement that I can use for a better zoom? How powerful is it? Are those smaller cameras easy to use?
