I don't want to plug my own shot, and I don't want to make it seems like I'm gong for chepa hits, so I'm not going to post the shot in question.
I also would have posted this in Civil Aviation, but I thought this is something that us photographers deal with, and that it might be more fun for us photogs to check this out.
But there was a plane in the background of one of my shots and I offered a prize to whoever could figure out what it is.
I got a bunch of emails in the past day since it was accepted, and everyone keeps saying that it's an AirTran 717.
Here is a closeup of the mystery plane:
It doesn't like beige, and the tail doesn't look green, so I don't think it's a 717. Not to mention the fact that it's JFK traffic.
The pic was taken on April 15th at 6:23PM, going ENE over Flushing, Queens, which is about 5 miles north of JFK, probably making its way to land there.
Also, some people imply that I know it an am making a guessing game. Nah, I wish I knew.

I'm just surprised that so many people think it's AirTran.
And I'd hate to say it because it sounds like it's fixed because I know him, but I'm going to assume that it's a Southeast DC-9, and that since Cicadajet was the first one to say it, he wins the prize.

Phil,
Taking a look at red1aviation's flight tracker from that afternoon, your plane was SNK322, DC9-30 service from FLL-SWF...landed around 6:27pm...I love a good challenge!
