Criteria To Get In The Headline On Frontpage

Hi!
I've got a question especially to the admin(s).
What are the criteria to get in the headline on the frontpage with a new aircraft of an airline or a new coloursheme? Any special rules to follow (except sending a mail to the admin after uploading the picture). Does it have to be one of the major airlines? Or just a very colourful sheme? I'm asking cause I don't wanna send mail to the admin of a new aircraft or new coloursheme which I got if I know in advance that it isn't really of interest for putting it in the headline, cause I think the admin has enough other mail stuff to do.  Smile
Any answers would be really appreciated.
THX
Peter

This is where editorial judgement comes in. I know I've made the billboard only once, and that was because I was first on with a shot of the American 777 just after delivery (same shot I got on the Airliners calendar). Usually it's a combination of timeliness of the subject, quality of the image, and overall appeal to the readership of Airliners.net.

Hi Peter

Anything new, airline, colour scheme or something eye-catching that is not on the database will probably be included on the front page.

Johan will probably notice while uploading, but if something REALLY special, mail one of the Admins to bring to attention.

Thank you Gary for the answer, but that's exactly what I did with my Embreaer 120 of Air moldave and ..... no reaction. So I guess its' nothing really special. Correcto?

Not that you would ever hope for this, but if you take a photo of an aircraft that later crashes, your photo will appear on the headline page.

From what Gary says, "just" a new type for an airline, like Peter's Moldova Embraer is probably not enough. It has to be a new scheme or a new carrier, or at least something more spectacular, like first bmi A330 or China A340.

It does not happen every day. I have almost 1000 pics here, and I only got "featured" twice.

Hi guys!
Thanks for the answers. I already thought that a lilltle airline like Air Moldova is not interesting enough  Big grin. Another question is has anyone ever sent a mail pointing out something new and has he got any answer if it was not "new" enough? I didn't so you never know if the mail went throug or if it was not interesting enoug hfor the public. Just asking ...

I believe that if the powers at be decide to do a feature on a particular subject, your photos will also be listed.
IE, aA friend of mine go his photo linked from the start page, as he uploaded it when Johan was doing a feature on 707's in the desert, davis montan or mojave I think it was.
