Was watching GMTV (UK) today and they had a great filtered video of the sun with Venus transiting and all of a sudden an A330 silhouette flashes across.....
Would make a great challenge for anyone to shoot on still in the next few hours! Big grin

Over here we had nothing but sunshine. Too bad I didn't get an aircraft passing in front of the Sun at that time. That would definitely have been my best shot ever  Sad

Much the same pictures here in Australia, except the "dot", I mean Venus was travelling from the upper right hand side across to the left hand side.

Cheers

I did try for a picture but the camera wouldnt pick up the dot in the sun even through a filter...

I was using a piece of welding mask lense (it was a square piece of plastic coated to tint the glass with the UV Layer)

What sort of settings are required to pick something like this up? I could see the dot through the view finder of the lense but I couldnt get a picture tried everything...

Hi guys,

German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung have published an interesting photo on their frontpage today: The sun with the venus and a jet with contrails. Very nice.

I've also found the photo on the web:

Click on Fotoserie Venus-Transit (pretty high up), it's photo #5.

Great shots. My sister also took some. She'll get them back next week as they're on slide film.
