AIRLINERS.NET CREW HEAD DATABASE EDITOR
Phil,
You'll be pleased to know we have received no less than eight "corrections" for your photo, as follows:
It's a nice remark-the winglets- but the photographer is kidding us all ! it's the triangle in the trademark of Delta
Thats not a winglet! Its the top of the triangular Delta logo on the fuselage behind.
The photograph remoark refers to a "winglet". That winglet the photographer is referring too is actually the Delta "widget", not a winglet on the 738.
Those so called Airbus winlets is actually the blue paint on the fuselage
Delta logo looks like an Airbus-style winglet!
The winglet is the Deltalogo (Take a close look...
That's not a winglet, thats the delta shape in deltas logo
That`s not a winglet, but the Delta Airlines logo!
Brilliant.
Edward
PS - Not quite so many corrections as the Air Hong Kong 747 mislabelled as a Cathay Pacific 777, there were 15 for that one....

I just wish I made it more obvious that I was joking. I saw it and thought it was a cool illusion and didn't think it would cause the minor uproar that it did. lol
Funny how people submitted corrections for it. lol

I give up.
I'm still getting half a dozen emaisl an hour about this pic.
I'm now replying to people SWEARING up and down that it IS a winglet.
Saying things like:
"No, seriously, it's a winglet. My Dad says so!"
"I heard it's an Airbus A319 but they ran out of noses and put a pointy Booeing one on there that they had lying around."
"In an attempt to compete with US Airways Shuttle's A320 service to BOS, they added the winglets to try to trick the riding public. I heard this on a phone message from Gerald Grinstein himself."
Sorry to the screeners for having to deal with the corrections.

Lolz that is a classical piece of material to read. Well Done Phil!!
Those corrections emails are a riot.
I also agree that a wink smile would of made the statement clear that it was all for a joke. It would be even better if those smiley emoticons would appear in photo remarks.
