Hi,
I plan to travel via GVA this summer ( at the end of July to be more precise ).
During my 2 flights, I will have about 4 hrs to spend there and I wonder if there's a good spot in walking distance or even better, a viewing deck or something similar.
Just walk out of the airport to your left towards the train station, there shall (les eaux) be a sign indicating the Swissair centre.
the restaurant (more like a canteen, actually) is on the penultimate floor.
Beware, it is only open until 3PM.
However, if you contact the other Elbonian, he might give you a tour of the GVA spots in his 707mobile.

Indeed, if you contact me, I'll be happy to show you around (especially since I am going to INN around mid July and was about to ask you the same thing).
I don't go everyday to GVA, but would be more than happy to be your guide, as I begin to know the good spots.
When do you plan to be in GVA ?
Incidently I was there just Saturday, with some quite peculiar spotting fellows :

Thank you for the info so far Will! I'll arrive there at 1320, so I might visit this canteen...
Looks like you had some nice traffic there... Hope I'm having them too
EDIT: Just seen the new post:
The exact dates are not fixed so far, I'm gonna handle this tonight, as I'm going to visit my family in NCE. I may book the flights this evening.
Having a guide ( with a car ) would be very helpful indeed! If you're coming to INN, I can show you around too. Just tell me. Oh, and make sure you visit on a SAT, the best day in terms of traffic in summer!

For more info about GVA you might also want to visit http://www.dpts.org. There you will find lots of info about the main photo points and maybe more interesting, unusual visitors. Well worth a visit!
