I decided to go to Farnborough this year, bought a ticket AMS-LGW-AMS with BA for the 24th and got entrance tickets online.

My plan is to shoot as many pictures as I can. But this will also be the first major airshow I'm visiting. So, I would be very grateful if somebody more experienced could provide me with some good tips or things I should know before going there  Smile

Roel.

Don't expect too much - the public days will be packed., making static shots tough. You shuold be able to get flying ones, but when it is so busy people tend to walk in front of you all the time unless you get right to the front!

I'm not doing the two weeks apart from the public days due to the amount of people that get in the way  Wink/being sarcastic

Get there as early as you can and you have two choices. Either set up camp on the crowd line ready for the display and shoot the static later or go and shoot the static and then take your chances to get a clear spot on the fence later.

Always packed on the two public days so good luck

Paul

re: static shots

After the last air display the place empties out quite quickly. If the light is good that can be a good/better time to get static shots sans gawkers.

Make sure you bring a backpack or bag of some sort, I am sure there will be plenty of handouts, grab one of everything.

One tip.............shoot as much as you can but don't upload everything in one go. Try different angles etc.

Remember...millions of Airliners.net photographers will be these shooting the same stuff.

Screeners....get ready for one LONG queue  Sad
