Hi there,

Whilst at the local patch I decided to try something just a little bit different away from the norm.

Got a few shots of the rear of the aircraft as they taxi to the runway. Here are the examples:

Just wanted to know if this is the kind of thing that would be accepted here on A.net.

There are a few "ass shots" that I have seen, examples by Colin. I didn't want to waste my time and the screeners time by uploading, so I thought I'd get some advice!

You think I should upload? I look forward to a response.

Cheers for the help in advance,

Regards,

AIRLINERS.NET CREW
HEAD SCREENER

Colin's shots work because that have perfect rear lighting, yours suffer from the fact the sun is above and in front of your subject, loosing the details in the shadows.

Yeah the sun was just above in those shots actually. (Obviously resized to accommodate the forum width.)

The Dash 8 rear end isn't too bad.

Brian, Gary is the master of ass shots!

Cheers guys,

Maybe next time, try to get the props blurred by using a slow shuttertime. This will give a sense of action to an "ass" shot and makes it interesting. If the planes are stationary or landing use a shuttertime slower than 1/160s. When the planes are in their take off run you probably get away with a shuttertime slower than 1/200s as the props are turning faster then.
