Finally got around to getting down to the beach to try out my 100-400L after like 6 months.
Thought the AMS team may like this shot as its similar to some of there incredible shots although with a slightly better(IMHO) background to shoot against.
This angle alone really shows off the 100-400L and what it can do given the right conditions and one of my best photo's to date.
With Glenn back in town hopefully we can provide a bit more competition to the great team of guys in AMS who keep pumping out the awesome shots week after week.
For the AMS guys, keep up the great work.

Wow... We have become recognized as the AMS-team with a 'signature' shot? Cool!
Thanks for reminding about this angle Darren. Haven't uploaded any for quite a while now. :P
You're right, you can't beat that background... Hopefully I can try it out myself in october when I'll be in Sydney.

Yea i think you are right when you say its an AMS signature as all i can think of when i see this angle is AMS.
I look forward to visiting one day so i don't have to stand on a 6' high ladder to get these types of shots.
Great Dragon shot, hopefully my future employer!!

What Rwy is that KLM shot on.
The reflections always seem a little better there han anything i can get here so i think its got something to d with runway/sun alignment.
Yea joining the long list of people on the Dash who attempting to further our careers elsewhere such as Dragon,CX,Brunei etc.
Dash drivers are loved by everyone except the people who own our aeroplanes.A most unfortunate situation for our employer as we had an enormous turnover the last two years in the order of >35% of out total crew compliment.
Money elsewhere kills QF as well so its OS hopefully in the next 12 months or so.
Eduard, You will enjoy your trip to the "West Island" for sure and wishing you better weather then I had a few years ago... My backdrop on my photo's taken @ SYD looked like let's say unidentifiable...

Yes OS as in OverSeas, the money being paid to QF gus is a fair bit less than to many of the operators around the Asiapacific area.
Seems we have a bit of a sweet spot for those tight rear 3 quarter shots.
Thanks Wietse Rwy 24? The sun must almost be on the nose of the aircraft as they look like late afternoon when you get the best light for your shots.
At YSSY its Rwy 34L so the sun is at 90 degrees giving pretty harsh light compared to the AMS shots.
Anyway great shots all and i thik we have settled on the signature shot of AMS is the rear quarter view.
Great shots everyone!!

Great to see another one for Syd Brendan.
Your A330 shots where great that went up over the last couple of days,i loved the High ISO stuff.
I think AMS and Syd have a few things in common.
First off very similar signature shots ours with the city backdrop and AMS with the great blue although some get some great cloud action.
Syd and AMS seem to attract some excellent photographers as home base, the list of people i could line up would be to long to mention for both airports.
I won't mention any for fear of leaving someone out!!
Seeing some of the stuff that comes in keeps you motivated to see exactly what the limits are of your equipment are so thanks to all.
