Hi to all,
in two weeks I will go Japan to visit a friend and for spotting ! I am also interested in a Canon Zoom Lens for my 300d. How much is the 'EF 100-400 mm 1/4.5-5.6 L IS USM' in Japan ? Is it worth to by it there ? In Europe it cost about 1600 Euro (2000 USD, 215000 Yen). Does Canon offer a world wide warranty for lenses bought in Japan?

I picked up a 100-400L from a small dealer in Shinjuku in Jan for 206000Y.
Bic and Yobodashi where both quite a bit more ranginging from 216000 to 220000Y.
Definitely not as cheap as Hong Kong or Singapore for L glass.
Mine came with a world wide warranty but be careful as many sell Japanese market warranties only.
Have fun in Japan an awesome place to visit.
