I dunno about you, but I love taking airport aerial shots from the plane window, especially if it is a rarely known about airport such as this one:

http://mea707.lrehosting.com/100_0106.JPG

Unfortunately haze was the enemy that day.

After doing some unsharp mask, and resizing it to 1024 x 768, I've gotten it to look descent.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to take that original shot, shrink it to 1024 x 768 and make it Airliners.net acceptable or close?

Like I said, I've gotten some okay to descent results, but I'd like to hear your feedback.

Regards

Playing with curves, colors, and Neatimage got me this. I think it might pass.

Wow Rotor1...that is really good...

As Maiznblu_757 said, can you show us a 1024 x 768 version? Anything smaller than that size usually isn't worth submitting to Airliners.net.

After seeing Mike's great work with that photo, I tried it myself and got similar results, not as good as he's though. I think he has the wing of the plane in the bottom right corner worked and removed too.

I think you should submit it, it's a great photo.

Regards.

He cloned out the wing, it is easy to tell. I personally liked it with the wing in the shot, it adds depth.

but that's just me.

That's actually not the wing, but the corner of the window.

If you want to see a decent shot at 1024, someone has to pony up the original... it takes more than a miracle to get an ALN acceptable shot out of a 2400px wide shot thats only 350kb. If that is the original, then switch the camera from "large/crap" mode to "large/good" or even TIFF/RAW for future success, and enjoy the afforementioned shot at sizes no larger than 650px wide.
