Dear members of A.net and Johan,

Question for you guys I am wondering if you guys liked to see a better email confirmation what warnings are for your pics who are included to A.net or not.

Since a month of 6 I am proud to be a member of A.net but also because I am a beginner at aviation photography there are some problems with the mail I allways get (photo accepted with warnings bad angle or low quality image how to improve etc etc.)

I do not criticize johan about this I only think it can be better if the email tells one thing to improve in place of 4 or 5 things.

Like me and maybe more beginner aviation photographers don't take the time to do it all over (scan, sharpen) and reload it to the database because of the fact they doesn't know exactly what to do now.

Please don't think I criticize I am just wondering if there is a oppertunity to do it in a new way.

All answers, questions are more then welcome.

Cheers,  Smile

We should all be glad that Johan goes through hundreds of pics every day. That must be a lot of work and I appreciate it that there is a e-mail not just telling you "rejected". If he did it like that he could save some time but he doesn't. Wouldn't it be too hard to tell every photographer what to improve? That's not what he's here for. That's our job to a certain point.

Hi. My view.

Maybe this is particular to me, but I think most of the "The image quality of these photos are low" rejections lately are due to the fact that my photo's were taken on a dull day, or the sun decided to hide behind a cloud. There must be something in the "if it's not sunny, it's time to go home" scenario.

Yet, 15 minutes later, the sun pops out, another aircraft
passes by. Shot taken. No major changes in the image manipulation process. Submitted to a.net along with the earlier one. Surprise! Accepted without warnings.
Rather than "The image quality of these photos are low"
why not state, "The weather conditions are not suitable" or something like that.

Just a thought.

Gerry you have a valid topic until the time I keep seeing recent photos like one common Airtours DC-10 far away from the photographer, with a grey sky (almost white) on the background and with no sun at all.

As they say here, "There's no accounting for taste".

Hi there all thanks for replying,

What I ment with a new email confirmation is,

as example:

Dear jeffrey your VA747-V*** is rejected with the following reason:

The image quality is low.

Only that make it simple for johan and for Me and I think also other beginner aviation photographers.

I know Johan has to do more things then only mailing people like me.

It was only a suggestion and not to criticize  Smile

Cheers,

Jeffrey van Beek
