This is what I call a viewing deck. Very very nice. I like China. Watch closely USA.
I am so glad that I can come back soon.

Uhhh nice ... but what about the line in the description:
"But now this good place was removed for airport moving."
Sounds like its gone....

Yepp, unfortunately. They opened a new airport at the 5th of August. I am very curious about the first pictures from there...

*$#$%$!!!
If I had only known about this place when I was there.  Sad I went through all this trouble finding the right bus and busstop to the runway ends (my chinese is a bit non-existant!), running around in 35 degrees weather. It could have been so easy...
Oh well... At least it was a very interesting experience mingling with the local Chinese.  Smile

The location pictured in Guangzhou is not a viewing deck as that airport doesn't have a viewing deck - I suspect its the roof of a hangar. The airport is now to all intents and purposes closed as the new airport is now open.

Florian,

What are those conditions like on the camera equipment? Do you get any glitches or problems arising from the cold?

Looks like a superb place. Very thoughtful of them not to put glass in the way too.

Cheers

Florian,

The bad thing about the the INN terrace is that half of it is occupied by a cafe. They even had this area locked up during last winter season although there where no tables outside. So you are a bit lmited up there. But may be this will change this year again who knows.

Would love to have a panaramic picture of EWR from the Ikea restaurant deck across the turnpike. You can see just about everything, if it were still open. Another victim of 9/11.

I have shot in some cold times here in Nashville. 22 degree's F. And the only thing that seemed effected was the battery life.

I should be visiting Marbella, Spain next month and I am wondering if there is any observing facility to view the aircraft at Malaga Airport or somewhere nearby that is safe?

Thank you, all!

Sam

Try and hook up with these guys:

http://www.malagaspotters.co.uk/

AGP looks like it has potential for spotting. I've been to the place loads of times, but never had time to explore it. I've seen a photographer about 100yards from the taxiway on the inland side.

The main departure lounge faces the runway and principle taxiways, and aircraft will also park up right in front of you. The windows are tinted though.

Cheers
