As long as the lens has the proper mount for the camera, you should have no problems. You may have to set the camera to M (manual) mode for exposure as it most likely won't be able to change the f-stop, but that will depend on the lens.

I just recently tried a 30 year old, manual 400mm/F5.6 Takumar with M42 mount on my Canon EOS 10D. The results, despite the bad weather which required ISO 400 and wide open F stop, were not too bad after all. It was a trial only, but I could buy this lense for about 50EUR...
