Spotting At IAD Terminal

Hey,
I'll be connecting at IAD tomorrow on Independence Air, and I read online that there is an observation deck at the main terminal.

I'm scheduled to arrive at IAD at 11:22 am and depart at 1:00 pm, so I assume that this would be enough time for a quick trip over there. If I take the mobile lounge to the main terminal to reach the observation deck, will I need to clear security or will I remain beyond the checkpoint? Are there any other good spots, particularly in concourse A or B that offer good places to spot?

Observation deck is closed. Terminal B offers great places for pictures.
