I think A.net need to add a section to the photo search page for photos of plans taken up close at the gate!
To me there is no greater thrill then seeing a plane as close as it is at/around the gate. The detail of door/cargo hold outlines, among other detials, gives a great prespective of the planes design, and size, as well as what its like to be up near it.
Seeing we in the US can't currently just do this (Go look at planes at the gate), a section like this would be a major benefit.

THIS IS MY FIRST POST!!
Sorry couldn't resist.
Personally I don't really like gate shots. I think seeing the A/C up at the gates in real life is really amazing.
I think there was a poll at one time about types of shots.
Gate pics came last I think.

TU154: Do you ever realize how boring it is to see continous photos of planes in the final approach stage, plus there isn't any great detail to apprciate in those shots, unless its a really close lens/filter.
Gate shots offer amazing detail and prespective not seen on all those other shots and as United4 said, all the ground equipment and ramp crews greatly add to the photo, in a good way.
