After burning a CD form my memory card the middle 60 images got corrupted. images from 801-841 work and from 900-935 work but those in the middle give me a error that the JPEG string is too short. does anyone know if there is any way to salvage the images. the volume is there but they dont want to copy and seem unusable. if there is any program that may be used to partialy uncover the images it would be greately apperciated

This will do it, and it is free. http://www.z-a-recovery.com/digital_image_recovery.htm

I would try downloading the images off the card to a hard drive before trying to burn to a cd. I imagine the transfer rate off the card was too low, causing the errors.

thanks but the problem is that the CF card got messed up also. it was a KIngston 512MB and i had to file an RMA for it cuz it stopped working.

i dont think that the card itslef might have caused a problem beacuse as i said the first and last images shot were read but not the ones in the middle

Did you try it? I used it for the exact same issue and it worked. It will retrieve EVERYTHING from your CF card, everything.
